Our Goal

To have as much fun completing our mission as a group can legally have.

How We Came To Be

15th Street Flyers foundersIt was spring of 1999. Two friends would often get together to run the neighborhoods of Covington. Their route took them down 15th Street, a somewhat busy road with no shoulder or sidewalk. That spring, the City of Covington began construction on a blacktop path that led all the way from Hubie Gallagher park into River Forest subdivision. The Idea was born while the foundations of the path were still being laid. The day the path was completed was the first meeting of the Fifteenth Street Flyers. It just made sense! Our first official run/walk was Tuesday, May 4, 1999 and included 9 people and two dogs. Three years and a nice pavilion later, we have seen several hundred different folks join the fun. We average 30-35 each week during the winter and 60-70 during the summer. Some come and go, but once you are a Flyer, you are always a Flyer. We have always strived to be an integral part of the community and will continue to help with park improvements and contributions to youth programs. We have also maintained a friendly, social, family atmosphere at all of our meetings and events. So come be a part of our history and join the fun!!
